This is the second draft of my magazine front cover that I created on Fireworks. It changed slightly from the first draft I made: I swapped the side that the puff and 'other features' are on, edited the background to make it more pink/ombre, and moved the masthead to the side of the page.
To create this more detailed design, first I had to decide on a name/masthead. To do this, I referred to my questionnaire/survey. One of the names suggested was 'sound', which I really liked. I chose the font and font size next. I thought that it should be bold and in a large font to make it stand out more. Next, I chose a colour scheme. I did some research into teen pop magazines, and found that a popular colour was pink as they are aimed at younger teenage girls. For the background, I wanted to do an ombre pink effect- to keep the colour scheme going. I created a block pink background then used fireworks to make it go from darker to lighter. I also used pink, black and white for the text to stick to the colour scheme.
As my double page spread is about an artist called Olivia Weston, I made her the focus on my front cover. I made her name in a different (and quite girly) font anda larger size. I will later add a close up of her to the cover.
